Continuing our 75th Anniversary Celebration, the 2024 Spring Gala was an unforgettable culmination of our year-long tribute to seven and a half decades of unparalleled artistry, innovation, and impact. The Gala program turned the spotlight on NYCB's future through our commitment to new work. The evening featured two new ballets – one by NYCB Resident Choreographer and Artistic Advisor Justin Peck marking his 24th ballet for the Company, and a NYCB debut by Amy Hall Garner, whose work has been seen on a wide array of ballet and theater stages. The program opened with George Balanchine’s Rubies, which epitomizes the distinct energy and athleticism that are hallmarks of the Company to this day.
