Background

Stephanie Zungre was born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She began her dance training at the age of six at the Pittsburgh Youth Ballet School with Jean Gedeon. Ms. Zungre entered the School of American Ballet (SAB), the official school of New York City Ballet, in the fall of 2000. In addition, she trained at the summer programs of Miami City Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and SAB. In December 2002, Ms. Zungre became an apprentice with New York City Ballet, and in October 2003 she joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet.

Honors

In February 2000, Ms. Zungre won First Prize in the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Society of Arts and Letters dance competition.
